The Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce held it's annual Sundowner festival on March 11, and Seley Ranches was the proud host for the evening's festivities. As always, it was a Bring-Your-Own-Chair event, so we cleared out our big warehouse, brought in the decor, and let the rest take care of itself. With dinner served by El Borrego Restaurant, great live music by Dennis Franklin & Friends, and evening led by Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Linda Haddock, the evening was full of laughter, dancing, memories, and, of course, raffle winners!.
Owner Jim Seley was present throughout the entire evening to greet everyone entering through the big warehouse doors. Also representing Seley Ranches this evening was Jim's wife, daughter, some of his grand-children, as well as foreman Ryan Fancy and field worker Juan Garcia. During the course of the evening, those interested were given a vehicle tour of the Ranch where Jim explained his best ranching concepts, our methods and strategies for water conservation and shared some personal stories about the ranches long history.
The turnout was one for the books and energy never dwindled, ignited in part between the lively music by the band and the cheerful spirit brought by the community. Many indulged in the drink of the night, dubbed the "Seley Special", which used some of the ranches famous Seley Reds juice in the cocktail. We almost ran out of grapefruit for this one! Congratulations to all the raffle winners, and a big 'Thank You!' to the Chamber of Commerce and entire Borrego community for helping make this event truly spectacular!
